DUBAI: Pakistani singing sensation Ali Sethi, celebrated globally for his chart-topping track Pasoori, is set to captivate audiences at the 2025 Jashn-e-Rekhta festival in Dubai.

The festival, a grand celebration of Urdu language, literature, and music, will take place at Zabeel Park on 2 February 2025, where Sethi will close the event with a performance titled Shaam Dhale: A Night of Music and Romance.

Who is Ali Sethi?

Ali Sethi is a multifaceted Pakistani artist renowned for his soulful voice and innovative approach to South Asian music. Born on 2 July 1984 in Lahore, he initially gained recognition as an author with his critically acclaimed debut novel, The Wish Maker.

Transitioning into music, Sethi has earned a reputation for blending classical ghazals and folk melodies with contemporary styles, bridging generational and cultural divides.

Sethi is also the son of renowned journalists Najam Sethi and Jugnu Mohsin, and has an impressive academic background, with studies at Lahore Grammar School, Harvard University, and the National College of Arts, Lahore.

Sethi’s career soared with the release of Pasoori under Coke Studio Pakistan in 2022, a track that transcended borders, earning millions of streams and a spot on international charts. His other celebrated works include Chandni Raat, which exemplifies his deep connection to classical music traditions.

As a frequent contributor to Coke Studio, Sethi has collaborated with various artists to produce music that resonates globally. His ability to reimagine traditional South Asian music with a modern twist has made him a cultural icon and a global ambassador of Pakistani artistry.

Jashn-e-Rekhta
